KBBQ King of Koreatown, Los Angeles

Why do people put up with the utter lack of parking, the usual 2 hour-ish wait time, and the blasting EDM music (is this a dinner…rave?? Why not both!) at Kang Ho Dong Baekjeong? Because this place is ridiculously yummy. Like undeniably, ridiculously yummy.

This is an order-by-the-plate kind of KBBQ place, but they do have awesome combo deals if you don’t want to think and just want to nom. My go-to meats: Brisket, Rib Eye Steak, and plate after plate until I’m so full I can’t move of Ggot Sal (extremely high quality sirloin steak). You can tell it’s Ggot Sal because of the way the marbling is. Neat!

I love how the waiter cooks for you, so you can just focus on stuffing your face.

I love the secret dipping sauce with wasabi that gives your meats a slightly salty and spicy kick.

And I lovelovelove the unlimited egg moat. Egg Moat: a moat made of uncooked scrambled eggs that cooks in the sunken groove around the grill while your meat cooks. Add in the unlimited corn cheese mixture while the eggs are still cooking and you’ve got a highly addictive steamed egg banchan (small side dish). Pro Tip! Finish your egg moat before your last meat dish cooks, that way you can ask for a refill while your last dish cooks. If you ask for more after all your meat has already been cooked, you will prooooobably be denied *cough* spoken from experience *cough*
