Fast Indian Food – Los Angeles

Fast food doesn’t have to be limited to plain burgers and fries: California Chutney breaks that boundary wide open.

We wandered into the California Chutney while bar hopping in Old Town Pasadena. We were one drink down, planning to food real quick and then go forward strong!! We wanted something not bar food, but not full on restaurant either. The smell of fresh baked naan and the giant blown up pictures of Roti Burritos, Naan Tacos, Tandooori Chicken Wing…annnnnd we’re in the door.

California Chutney was perfect. The simple assembly-line style what just what we were looking for. No fuss, no mess, it got us from drooling at the menu to devouring our food in minutes.

You start with your protein (get the Chicken Tikka Masala, or the Lamb Keema if you like a little more spice in your life), pick how you want it served (Roti Burrito all the way!!), and then add on all the toppings and glorious chutney you want. And if you can’t decide which chutney you want to try, it’s perfectly okay, there’s a chutney bar where you can get allllll the flavors. Why choose when you can have them all?!
