Finding Comfort at 3am

Comfort food = food that’s yummy because of nostalgia. Well, that’s wrong because I never grew up with Sul Lung Tang (Ox Bone Soup), but omg is it now my favorite comfort food.

Nestled in one of KTown’s notoriously over packed and valet only plazas is my all time fav place to go for Sul Lung Tang: Sun Nong Dan. Don’t get scared about the valet. It’s only $2-$3 and saves you a whole bunch more on time and headache trying to find street parking.

Why I love this place?
1. Opens 24 hrs.
2. Generous with their meat portions.
3. And knows how to politely placate hangry drunkies that wander in at 3 in the morning 🙂
Ultimate comfort level reached.

Sul Lung Tang with Beef Brisket is my ultimate go to for comfort. You can add your own salt and green onions to taste. Or you can go old-grandpa style like me and drown your kimchi in the hot creamy soup. Laugh if you want, but this simultaneously makes the soup spicy and cooks the kimchi to be a little sweeter. Brilliant and efficient IMO.

But if you are a meat eater, go for the Special Beef Back Rib Soup with Noodle. They give you sooooooo much meat!!! I mean, Prince JD with his bottomless stomach was able to get full from it. That’s saying a lot for the amount of food your getting!

And for the ultimate experience, their Braised Beef Short Ribs is the answer to all your hangry dreams. It is ginormous and definitely made for sharing.
