After seeing the Gundam, Tokyo Bay, Aqua City Mall and Diver City Mall, my cousin and I headed back to the hotel to rest up before dinner with my friends at 19:00 (7:00pm).
My friends met us up at the lobby of the Conrad, and we headed for 赤坂見附駅 (Akasaka-mitsuke station). After a short walk, we arrived at ぼてぢゅう – BOTEJYU known for their delicious お好み焼き – okonomiyaki. お好み焼き is a savory pancake containing meat or seafood.
We sat down, ordered some beer, and picked a few items from the menu for the four of us. Our beer came with the お通し (otooshi) of 枝豆 (edamame).
We started out with some appetizers: ギョーザ (gyoza), and たこ焼き (takoyaki) that was topped with bonito flakes, or かつお節 (katsuobushi). Compared to what I’m used to, the gyoza and takoyaki tasted much better in both texture and flavor.
For the main course, we ordered garlic soba, omusoba, and a modern-yaki okosoba. I’ve tried the omurice in Houston before, and the omusoba is similar but with much more flavor. All of the dishes were delicious!
After dinner, my friends took me and my cousin to Roppongi to walk around before heading back to the hotel.
